Update 06-Sep-19 “Blue green algae counts have dropped significantly. They are now below advisory level”
I have received the following information from Bristol Water:
“Chew Valley Lake
Algal Counts per ml: 30,830, Blue/Green 28,987
Type: Anabaenopsis (Blue/Greens
This level triggers the ‘advisory threshold’. Signage is already in place at the entrance gate.
No significant additional action is required at this stage and sailing can continue with the usual precautions: showering after sailing, washing and drying sailing clothing and, of course, not intentionally drinking the water! ”
I would add a reminder to wash hands before eating and drinking inbetween sessions on the water.
The forecast is for sunshine and good breeze this weekend – happy sailing.
Best wishes
