Sailing Report – Helen Martin, Vice Commodore
Despite a breezy forecast for Saturday, the actual 8-10 knots from WSW, gave the 50+ Solos and Lasers great racing all day. The race team led by RO Nick Martindale and coordinator Andy Harris set up 3 triangle-sausage races with calm, efficiency – much appreciated by all the competitors. Thank you to everyone involved.
See the Yachts and Yachting reports:
On Sunday numbers were low; perhaps the forecast of a westerly with big gusts put people off, although a few hardy souls managed all four races.
Wednesday was even quieter with many of the regular school groups noticeable by their absence at the end of term. However in the evening, a nice breeze picked up for the evening race and nearly fifty boats enjoyed close racing.
Site & Grounds Maintenance
Thank you to Simon Chapman, Andrew Martyn-Johns and John Rogers who have spent a day between them tidying the site. Much still to be done……
Please remember – you are all responsible for maintaining your boat park space/s.
