Barry Osborne
27th of May 1940 – 12th November 2012
It is with much sadness that I must announce the passing of Barry Osborne in the early hours of Monday the 12th of November.
Those of you who knew Barry will agree with me when I say that he was the quiet gentleman of sailing. Just happy to be at one with his Laser, a boat I believe he owned, possibly, from the first day he joined us at Chew.
Though not being a racer Barry did enjoy the comradeship that the club gave him, a comradeship that he shared with us Wednesday sailors.
A member of our Wednesday Duty Team, Barry never missed a duty and always made it his business to seek out when he was on duty and then turn up. Never any fuss.
I do not have any details re the Funeral but will pass them on when I speak again with his widow Margaret. By which time I may be able to give more details regarding a very fine gentleman.
Barry Osborne, who sad passing was announced recently, will be cremated at Bristol South Crematorium on Monday the 3rd of December at 12:00 midday.
